It’s always a treat when we get to work with someone who’s not just a super cool boss babe but when that person is also someone we call “friend”. My HOME Mercantile (sister company to My HOME Apparel) is where I find myself when I’m stuck on gift ideas. One of the things we love about the entire HOME group is what they stand for. The work Miriah and her team does in service of the communities they call home is exceptional. So, before we dive into the gift ideas, let’s start with how you can jump on board the “giving back” train and get involved with the Shoebox Project.
The Shoebox Project
The Shoebox project is an initiative to help women in need in our local communities. This is the HOME store’s 3rd year of involvement and their goal is to fill hundreds of shoeboxes for women in need. Whether you’re in a position to fill and entire box yourself (details below) or simply to contribute a couple of items, every bit helps!
How The Shoebox Project Works
Each box is a $50 value and should contain a collection of items outlined here. The boxes must be wrapped but able to be opened (so wrap the box and the lid separately) and the items inside should be unwrapped.
Remember, if you can contribute a full box – that’s awesome. If you can contribute a single item, that’s also awesome! This is a wonderful way to give back to the women in our communities who are struggling this time of year.
