If you could only eat one meal, for the rest of your life, what would it be? Easy. Brunch! I’ve been a long time lover of all things brunch so when the opportunity for us to explore Nova Scotia’s brunch options it was an easy sell. From classic breakfast cocktails to unique takes on traditional dishes, we’ve tried them all and we’re stoked to share these 9 mouthwatering brunch spots in Nova Scotia with you!

With Chef inspired menu items and brunch running Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays, the Auction House offers a really unique twist on traditional fare. The bright, friendly atmosphere and the DIY caesar bar (yes…that’s right) were just a couple of great reasons to visit. We loved everything that arrived at the table because each menu item had a perfect balance of traditional and unique but the winner, for us, was the Greg 5TEN!

Traditional English pub fare is served up in a cozy, warm environment at the British Bulldog. We loved the beer mug club and the new brunch menu and while we enjoyed the full English breakfast and the amazing desserts, the buttermilk blueberry pancakes were the standout for us along with the fresh biscuits served with melted butter and house made preserves.

From steak and eggs to lobster benny served with their signature smokey hollandaise sauce, this is worth the trip to Truro. Our pick? The lobster benny…obviously!

It’s not often that a hotel restaurant makes one of these lists but Trendz really surprised and delighted us with their careful attention to detail, fabulous service and fabulous food. May we suggest the baguette French toast?

With a no reservation policy and a wait list in minutes, Edna’s reputation precedes it and with good reason. This neighbourhood resto is full of eclectic character and although it’s busy all the time, the staff are friendly and efficient so you won’t wait long (and it’s worth it). Edna boasts an impressive menu and cocktail selection and while the food was amazing, our favourite part of the meal was the Oyster Caesar! So good!

Bistro Le Coq is one of those places that just transports you, bringing Parisian dining (and charm) to downtown Halifax. The menu has everything you’d expect from traditional French cuisine to hand crafted cocktails and is the perfect place to try something new. We’re torn on this one but will have to say that the beef and tuna tartare were the winners for me (mainly because it was something different and was clearly very carefully and thoughtfully prepared).

This family friendly, Italian restaurant takes buffets to the next level with their famous Sunday brunch buffet, featuring everything from steamed mussels to their signature eggs benny and a dessert table like you’ve never seen. What makes this buffet so amazing? Chef Hans starts his day in the wee hours of the morning, preparing all of the pastries, baked goods, sweets and treats fresh and from scratch. You simply cannot visit this buffet without trying the eggs benny on a freshly baked croissant and sampling the many desserts. Bring your appetite!

Finbar’s feels like home the moment you walk through the door. This Irish pub strikes a perfect balance of the classic comfort you’d expect from a pub with an elevated food program that goes well beyond your typical pub fare. With locations in Bedford and Dartmouth, Finbar’s really hits the mark of great food blended with even better customer service. The clear standout in terms of food, for us, was the Islander Benny. It is, quite easily, the most original twist on an Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and the addition of the caper jam was outstanding.

Parkside Pub & Smokehouse // 14 Highfield Park Drive, DartmouthWith a brand new menu, newly renovated space and a smoker that can handle over 1,000 pounds of meat at one time, the Parkside Pub & Smokehouse has got to go on your list of “must visit” restaurants this year. Located in Highfield Park, Dartmouth the Smokehouse has a great menu with items like pulled pork skillet (our favourite) and chicken & waffles as well as a private room for events and a huge stage for their weekly live entertainment. They’ve also got a dedicated pastry chef on staff which means their dessert menu is on point!
They all look amazing!!
Everything looks great. I may have to try one of these places sometime.
Breakfast is not my favorite meal but i could go for a great eggs benny!Im going to check a few spots out!
Breakwater in Pictou ,there fish tacos are absolutely delish!
