We believe, there’s more to life than grinding it out for 40+ years and then retiring at age 65 in hopes of being well enough to travel and explore the world at that point. We also know it’s not in everyone’s plan to quit their day jobs, sell all of their belongings and travel full time so in August of 2016 we set out to prove that you can find a balance.
Our aim was simple: Inspire. And we couldn’t think of a better way to do that than starting right here in our own backyard with a big, scary commitment to produce 100 videos in 100 days, showcasing all that Nova Scotia has to offer. With that decision, #100DaysofNovaScotia was born!
We knew we would have fun… we also knew it would be hard…but we didn’t realize how much we would learn along the way about our community, our neighbors, our province and most importantly, ourselves.
The project, in it’s entirety can be found on our Facebook Page where we’ve built an amazing community of travelers & friends but we’ve also compiled a short recap of the entire 100 days so you can get a glimpse of how amazing Nova Scotia really is!
One of our biggest concerns when we started this project was coming up with enough content to create 100 videos but the truth is, we ran out of time before we ran out of things to do. We got to experience so much in Nova Scotia in a short period of time and we’re not done yet – it only fueled our wanderlust for more!
What’s next? So many things! We’re working on a book where we will detail everything we did, everything we learned, the people we met, and more. We’re working on two more Nova Scotia projects right now – our “Nova Scotia Winter Getaway Series” and our “Best of Nova Scotia” viewers choice restaurant series.
We’ve also become brand ambassadors and are having the time of our lives freelance writing and working with brands and destinations to create photo and video content for them! You can learn more about how we work with brands, businesses and destinations here.
If you love what we’re doing – If this has inspired you in any way, why not share it with your friends!
Try visiting the islands down off Digby neck.
Brier Island is a gem. You will experience some of the best whale watching ever there. Stop for a bite at Lavenas Catch while waiting for the ferry (15 minute ride) for the most amazing food! You won’t be disappointed. Happy travels!
Thanks for stopping by Tina – great suggestion! We actually didn’t get to Digby for this project (but had planned to) so it will go right at the top of the 2017 list for sure.
